• Walks and Hikes:

Muir Oaks resident Ed Vining, taking note of the
people who enjoy walking our roads, thought there
might be interest in other walks and hikes available

walkers!

Monday - A small group from the Martinez Senior Center
start their walk at the parking lot of Hidden Valley Park, at
Center and Redwood in Martinez at 9:00 AM. The walks
takes about 1 hr to 1-1/2 hr through the park and canal trails.

Tuesday - A group of 10 to 15 will walk 2 to 3 miles
on paved and leveled trails. Meet at the Pleasant Hill Senior
Center, 233 Gregory Lane at 8:30 a.m. Parking is on the street
unless you're a member.

Wednesday - Meet at the Martinez Senior Center, 818
Green Street Martinez. Parking is on Ferry Street unless you're a
member. The parking lot at the center is typically full. There
are street parking on Ferry, south of Green Street.

Thursday - For hikers. A group of 15 to 25 meet at the
Pleasant Hill Senior Center and leaves around 8:30 a.m. Hikes are
about 5 to 8 miles. Carpooling to the hike destination
is recommended. Depending on the distance, riders typically
pay $3 to $4 to the driver. The Pleasant Hill Rec Dept
bus is also utilized for distant destination for a fee of around
$6.00. Previous hikes destinations: Point Reyes National
Seashore, Shelby Trail at Tilden Park and Napa.
